OK...this is my last take on Imus. What he said, the context, etc, has been dissected up the wazoo, but here's my perspective. I don't really care what he said in terms of racial issues. Well, that's not completely true, but it's not my main focus. My problem is a feminist one. What the hell is he doing commenting on them as women anyway? They're in the spotlight for playing basketball and he's commenting on their hair & tats? I make fun of racial stereotypes all the time (listen to
podcast and you'll see). But Imus' comments are more sexist than racist - to me, anyway.
I am exploring the concept that I may be a hypocrite here...if you just look at post of mine in the last month or so - I have commented on the new Liar for The War Criminal (that would be Press Secretary) being a hottie. But I still think she's evil and with each and every lie that spews out of her hole she becomes less & less hot. But if she wasn't and empirically attractive person I wouldn't come out of the gate saying that she's a pig. So, I'm working on this issue myself. We're always evolving...or at least, some of us.
A great take on the whole Imus thing can be found
here. There isn't a transcript of the video, but there is a follow-up link.

Wow...this is pretty telling. There are 150 graduates of Pat Robertson's pseudo-college in the current War Criminal's administration. Yeow!
See the video here. I'm not that much of a fan of Bill Mahr, but he does a good job here.
