- Well, I have had an interesting couple of weeks. Not toooo interesting, but not all that run-o-the-mill either. I'll bore you with the details now. Adrienne and I have been looking for a house to buy. It didn't go all that well. She has the same credit rating as a tub of popcorn and mine has gone to hell since I started dating her. It's shaping back up again though. I should be alright in the next few months. My Celica still doesn't have an engine, but I'm still trying to keep from spending too much money on my computer and Adrienne's whims. I totaled her car. I play the EQ2 beta whenever I can. Ok, ok, I know you're wondering about the car so I'll back up. We were driving down Western to go look at some more houses and someone decided to do a U-turn in the middle of the road, right as we were about to pass him. The Echo was totaled but I managed to keep from flying off of either side of the road down the drops into trees. I'm convinced that's the only reason we got out with as little physical damage as possible. Nothing serious. Adrienne's still complaining of chest pains but the docs said all was well. The insurance company is sending us money but we went ahead and found her a new car anyway. Guess what she picked? A red '96 Celica. Aren't you mad? She's now driving the same car I am. Except hers has an engine. =) She lets me drive it though so that's cool. She finally let me teach her how to drive a stick so she could have it. She's doing well. She loves it. I hope we get the money soon since the car company let us sign a promisary note so we could have the car on Tuesday as long as they got their money by the end of the month. It's now the 28th and I haven't heard back from them. Supposedly the check is in the mail. Grrr... Needless to say, the accident was the last day we went and looked at houses. I'm also a year older now. Happened a couple weeks ago. I'm still 19. Yeah. That's the ticket. Speaking of tickets, I still have to pay one. Believe it or not, I got a speeding ticket in the Rodeo I've been driving. She has something wrong with the engine and won't go above 4k on the tach and I estimate she has less than 100hp. This means I can barely do 70 on flat ground and she slows down to about 40 on hills. Pisses traffic off, I'm sure. Somehow I got clocked doing 82. I wish. Grr again... My dad renewed my membership at the Oak Ridge gun club so I'll once again have access to 1000 acres of shooty. Wanna go some time? Adrienne bought me another Chinchilla. Yay! We named her Daisy. ChinChin likes her a lot. He was trying to hump her 15 minutes after we put her in the cage. She's cute. I'm gonna be a Chinchilla rancher at last! I'm still reading Tom Clancy novels, despite Adrienne's insistance that I read what she calls "good books". I'm trying. She's forcing me to read Hemmingway right now and it's almost as boring as reading Dickens. I think I'm going to read the Illiad next. That should be good. I also finally got my concealed carry permit in the mail. Woot! Makes me want to sing and dance. I think I will.

Now all I have to do is decide what I want to go as for Halloween.

- I'm jonesing so bad! Back when I first downloaded the Dawn of War demo and started playing it (awsome game btw) I decided that my computer was in dire need of yet another upgrade. Namely, it was time to bump up to the 1GB of ram mark and it's not easy or cheap to find identical pairs of Corsair XMS CAS2 3200 DDR2 ram. I finally found some I was happy with and bought another hard drive as well since I was down to less than 1GB total free space amongst all my drives on 3 computers. Harsh. My list of crap to download was still a lot bigger than my wallet. Happy with the new RAM and HD I had picked out, I placed my order and waited anxiously for it to arrive. Arrive it did, but when I tried to install it, things didn't go so smoothly. Fast forward a week and I still hadn't had any luck. Long story short, I needed a new MOBO. I bought the new MOBO and after a week of waiting and a week of fooling with it once I got it, I was -really- starting to get pissed. I took it to a local computer shop I'm friends with and they spent a week getting pissed at it as well. They pronounced the board DOA. I got an RMA and sent it back on the slow boat to China (or so it seemed) and got a new one sent back. After another two weeks of shipping followed by another week of getting pissed at it and another week or so in the shop and it's been determined that the new replacement was DOA and looks suspiciously like the last board I sent in. Pins bent and all that in the same pattern. My bad. Couldn't have been like that on the second board too. Anyway, I'm getting a 3rd motherboard to replace the one(s) that have been so problematic thus far but guess what? It's going to have to be ordered and installed too. Woohoo! It seems like every single week it's at least another week away. Groan. I've got some great games I'd love to be playing but I can't. (sob)
On a lighter note, I totaled Adrienne's car. Oh, wait... That's not good news. The good news was that it wasn't our fault. Hopefully the insurance company will send us a fat check and we can get an even better new car. There was over $8500 worth of damage before they stopped counting. That's more than the blue book value of the car, that's why they stopped counting. I don't know if any of you have been down this road before, but DAMN it's annoying.
Surely I can think of an amusing anecdote, or sick joke to finish this journal update...
Fast forward 20 minutes. Ok, got one: Two blondes living in Texas were sitting on a bench talking and the one blonde says to the other. "What do you think is farther, Florida or the moon? " The other blonde turns and says "Helloooooooooooooooooooo.... can you see Florida?"

- Callipygian. Now that's what I'm talking about. Sorry I don't post much these days. Been busy at work. Well, not really 'busy' per say. I read forums mostly. Airsoft and stuff. EQ2 a bit as well. I still have my fingers crossed that I'll get into Beta. I played the hell out of Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War and beat the pants off of it. I liked the story line and can't wait for the expansion. I've also been filling my time by reading books. Mostly Tom Clancy but sometimes Hemmingway. No lie!
