 Susan Bates Metal - Here it is, the original. The original shuttle with which I learned to tat. Or, I should say the shuttle with which I attempted to learn! Tatting is a little bit tricky to learn, but this shuttle was just not very comfortable for me, so it was even harder. It really helped when I switched over to the Susan Bates Plastic.
This shuttle is very similar to the Boye Metal Shuttle in that it uses a bobbin and has a flat hook on one end for joins. The Susan Bates shuttle is a little bit longer and thinner, which makes it harder for me to grip.  Click to see a size comparison It's not much, but it makes a difference. | |
