 Sterling Silver Antique Replica - This is a new shuttle, of sterling silver, that is a replica of an antique
shuttle design. I bought in on eBay. There are a number of sellers of this type of
shuttle, I bought mine from
pelargonium. She is very nice and a recommended seller. That is something I would want to know when buying something on eBay. As I said, there are other sellers, but look around carefully, because I have seen them sold for more.
Just don't get fooled into thinking it IS an antique - This item is sold in catalogs for less than $30.00. Real antiques are also sold on eBay, but why would you want one? Just kidding, to each his own.
The design is on both sides, and the shuttle has a ring so you can wear it on a chain as a charm. I think it's kind of big for that, and the tip is very sharp. I just know I would hurt myself!! It can be used to tat, the ring on gets in the way a little bit. But I only bought it because I thought it was pretty, not to use! It is so victorian and old-fashioned looking, and I usually poo-poo that whole victorian thing. I also got a tiny version of this shuttle, that I DO wear as a charm. Pelargonium doesn't usually sell these on eBay, but you can email her and ask about it, I'm sure she has some available!  Click to get an idea of the actual size!!!
