 Silent Tatter in Zebrando, Waxed finish. - From Roseground.
Here it is, Silent Tatter number 2! I love this shuttle, it is so nicely made. The bobbin works perfectly, I have no trouble with it. I
like it much better than any of my other bobbined shuttles, Susan Bates, Boye,
even my GR8.It is about 2.5" from end to end, without the hook. the hook is a tiny 3/8". The width is j-u-s-t over 1/2 inch, but if I include the bobbin, which overhangs out the sides, it is about 7/8". The height is 5/8". That's as in from top to bottom through the hole of the bobbin. the shuttle comes with a cool little screwdriver to loosen the bobbin, but of course any standard screwdriver will work. Zebrando, or Zebrawood, has like the colors of marble fudge, it looks like chocolate and caramel!  This shuttle has a waxed finish, so it has kind of a matte luster to it. It is not as slick
feeling as a polished finish ST. See my Silent Tatter in Piqua Amarillo, which has a polished finish.I thought I'd like the waxed a lot, but at first I tended to like the slick feeling Piqua Amarillo better. The waxed finish was a little disconcerting. At this point, I have gotten used to the waxed finish, and I like it so much that I would order it again. | |
