Skacel Addi Shuttle Skacel Addi Plastic shuttle,, Tortoiseshell colored, by Inox. Now if you want to talk Tatra-Sutra, this is it. I go into another dimension when I hold this shuttle in my hand. Scientists say that if Earth were shrunken down to the size of a ball bearing, man could not make a bearing as smooth. Well, if the Earth would be the smoothest sphere, this is the smoothest elliptical body. It is so smooth, and has just the right balance of weight. It is 2-3/4" by 11/16".

I now know that this shuttle is by Inox, but it is a funny story how difficult it was for me to find this out. I was actually looking for the Clover plastic tortoiseshell shuttles, and saw this described as plastic tortoiseshell, and bought it, mail-order, without a picture. When I opened that box, my surprised delight at this shuttle was indescribable!!! When I called the company, I was told it was an Addi shuttle, distributed by the Skacel knitting company. I contacted the Skacel Company, and they told me that they used to distribute this shuttle, but it has been discontinued.

Another online supplier who carries it described it as an Inox. I asked them about that, and I was told it comes in a similar packaging as the little blue Inox does, so they assumed it was an Inox although it had no name on it. It's kind of like my little blue Inox shuttles, but only about as much as any tatting shuttle is like another. It is heftier, and longer. Also, it does not pop apart to load the thread. I have heard from people outside of the USA, and they have told me that they obtained this shuttle with packaging stating it is an Inox. I don't know why I had such a hard time finding out about this here, but for some reason most of the places that sell this shuttle in the states do not get it directly from Inox or with Inox packagaing. What I gather from other collectors is that the company that took over making the Aero and the small Inox also makes this one. Since I was told Skacel Addi at the time of the first purchase, I am in the habit of calling it that (it makes it easier for me to keep track of all my different types, anyway).

If you have seen this shuttle, but haven't gotten it because it is $5.00 more than the little blue or white Inox, or you figured it was the same, just a different color, think again!! It is very different. It is usually described as a 2.7" German Plastic tortoiseshell Shuttle. If you like a slightly larger shuttle, you may like this one.

I LOVE this shuttle, so just in case, I bought several of them! I'd better get some more, before they are gone, don't you think?
