 Pelc 2 Bobbin Shuttle I bought this shuttle from the
Nordic Needle catalog. Several other suppliers carry it as well. It comes with
instructions for mutli-color tatting. It is similar to a Susan Bates, but the hook is more of a spike. If you look closely you will see what I mean.
I have used this shuttle to try some of the super neat-O tatting techniques out there, like square rings, and floating 2 color rings. I haven't tatted anything large with it though. It is a little fudgety to work with, because the bobbins are not equally tight, but I guess it's still about as easy as sticking 2 separate shuttles together with stickytack stuff... which I haven't actually tried. I just hold the two shuttles together with the pressure of my grip....  Here is the side view, showing the 2 bobbins. It comes with a third (extra) bobbin as well.
