clay is a kind of plastic clay that is shaped and then cured in an oven at low heat. It stays somewhat flexible.I made a mold from polymer clay using my Addi shuttle as a model. I baked the mold, then I molded fresh clay into it to form the two outer leaves. I formed the center post, poked a hole through with a toothpick, and attach the three components. I baked it and voila! You can see that it is a marbled pink and white color, that is because I mixed together pink, white and translucent clay. It is actually a bit sparkly and pearlescent as well. I know that I shouldn't feel this way, since I created this from my own heart and hands, but this "shuttle" gives me the creeps! |
