 Antique, Chrome with etched scrollwork - I think this is chrome-plated brass. It is VERY stiff, and I can't adjust the tips at all. This makes it very hard to tat anything. It has the scrollwork design
etched on both sides. I found this shuttle in an antique store in a nearby town. I often go to antique stores, and almost every
shopkeeper tells me that "a lady just came the other day and bought up all the shuttles". I don't know who this lady is, but you just be
aware, I'm catching up with you!!
Well, I was very excited to have finally found an honest-to-goodness antique shuttle, and it was right about when I was giving up (you know that you pretty much have to hunt for what you want yourself in these antique stores!) I had never seen a shuttle like this! Since then I have found it on eBay, and it is described as being from the 1920's. it is rather large, over 3" in length. | |
