ShuttleSterling Silver by the Shuttlesmith - This was a Christmas present in 1999, from my boyfriend Tighe. He was so proud of how he got the information from me about what I preferred in a shuttle. Of course then I knew what was coming! But the actual finished product was a surprise. It is a beautiful shuttle, and I have always been enchanted by Celtic Knotwork.

At the time, I claimed the Susan Bates Plastic was my favorite shuttle shape, so he asked Karen Bovard to model it like that type. She suggested the larger size (it is 2 1/2" long) and I love it. All-around it is a great shuttle. The point is perfect for joins, the size and shape and curve fit perfectly in my hand, and the cool feel of the metal is always nice. The tips stay tight together, and when the thread snaps through the tips, they may a musical little "tinking" sound. The little flaw on the finish is not really a flaw, it is where the acrylic sealant has worn away, and it just needs to be reapplied.

Here is the Celtic design, I believe it is called "hearts entwined" and it is designed by Karen Bovard herself. I hope to get another of her Celtic Silver shuttles this Christmas!!
